Getting to Milawa

The Milawa Gourmet Region is part of the Rural City of Wangaratta and can be found just 2½ hours north of Melbourne or 1 hour south of Albury/Wodonga.
We are very easy to find, from Melbourne simply travel along the Hume Freeway to the Oxley/Milawa turnoff. Continue on the Snow Road for approximately 16km, travelling through the township of Oxley along the way. At the main crossroads of Milawa, turn left onto the Milawa-Bobinawarrah road. Travel approximately 1.5km and you will find the Milawa Cheese Company on the right.
You will discover it is well worth coming to enjoy the many delights the Milawa Gourmet Region has to offer.
By Road The region is readily accessible for a short break from the major eastern seaboard capital cities. In most cases, in around three hours you could be transported from the hurried pace of city life to the comfort of an open fire in a country setting. For detailed maps to assist you with your journey log onto Where Is? From Melbourne, Wangaratta is an easy 2.5 hour drive along the Hume Highway. From Sydney, the journey takes around seven hours. Wangaratta can be accessed by air via Albury Airport or via chartered flights from the Wangaratta Airport. Various commercial services with Qantas and Rex operate on a regular basis throughout the day from Sydney and Melbourne to Albury. These flight take 1 hour and 15 minutes from Sydney and 45 minutes from Melbourne. There are a number of car hire companies in Albury to choose from to get you where you want to go!
By Rail
Regular bus and train services also operate from the capital cities. V Line operates a number of daily services to and from Wangaratta.
