Twenty-eight years ago, David & Anne Brown founded the Milawa Cheese Company at the historic local Butter Factory in Milawa, and set about making delicious Australian farmhouse cheeses inspired by European methods – and we’re not stopping now.

We may have a sleek new logo and a killer website that’s easy on the eyes here at the Milawa Cheese Company, but rest assured we’re still making the same award-winning cheese we’ve been feeding Australian families for nearly three decades.

While we’re putting extra time and effort into ensuring our customers have the best possible experience both in our factory and on our website, our team are still pouring their hearts and souls into the handmade cheese recipes that we’re mighty proud to stick our logo on. That’s why we’ve revamped it – to reflect the refined standard and high quality of our locally made products. We still have the drive today, to deliver incredible European-style cheeses, that we did thirty years ago when we quit our jobs to chase our dairy dream.

Since our Milawa Blue hit the shelves in 1988, we’ve earned our place the Australian cheese industry with our high quality artisanal products. Today, our product range is a carefully curated selection of premium cow and goat cheeses that have garnered nationwide attention, not to mention a bucket load of awards that attest to their deliciousness.

Over time, our business has grown to include the addition of new cheese ranges, as well as an on-site restaurant and bakery jam-packed with local produce and a comprehensive selection of fine wines at the Park Wood Wines Cellar Door. But throughout the growth and success of the Milawa Cheese Company, we’ve never lost sight of why we started in the first place.

Our family-owned business is built on a love of what we do, and a determination to retain the handcrafted, small-scale nature of our operation. Our focus isn’t on commercial profit; it’s on quality, passion and perfection. We love what we do, and we hope you do too.

So while our company’s maturing, like a fine high-country cheese, our website is too and we have a lot of exciting things in the works that we can’t wait to share with you.
