It’s been a strange year, one which saw many of our beloved fans and loyal visitors unable to visit us in Milawa. But, now that the regional-metro “ring of steel” in Victoria has been lifted, we are so excited to welcome you all back!

It’s been a while, so we thought we’d provide you with some updates to our shop, our neighbours businesses in the Milawa Cheese Factory complex and other local businesses in the area.
NOTE: Please remember though to continue to wear your masks when visiting, for your safety as well as ours.

We are over the moon to announce that the Milawa Cheese Company opening hours have gone back to the normal 9am til 5pm, seven days a week for cheese sales. From Wednesday the 18th of November onwards, we are once again able to offer sit-down tasting sessions in our tasting room daily between 10am and 3pm. There is a maximum number per tasting session so you MUST book ahead to secure your spot and tastings cost $10 per person. To book, give us a call on (03) 5727 3589. We are currently also able to offer a takeaway tasting platter that can be enjoyed outside.

Next to us, The Milawa Kitchen closed its doors so some lovely renovations could take place, and it has now re-opened to show them off! Milawa Bread and the Milawa Mill are all part of The Milawa Kitchen as well, so you can buy freshly baked bread, made from the flour created by the Milawa mill (learn more about the brands here). Once again, you can stop by and enjoy a coffee and famous cruffin, or a lunch made from locally-sourced ingredients. Bookings are mandatory for seated dining so be sure to book you table ahead of time HERE.

Wood Park Wines have extended their cellar door opening hours back to 10am til 5pm, which means lovely, warm afternoons enjoying their beautiful wines in the sun. They also have a new tasting menu on offer that will delight all wine lovers.

Unfortunately, the Off Centre Gallery, which shared the same complex us as, has shut its doors and moved itself online. You can find its lovely array of locally sourced artworks at

We do still have WattleTree Collection (formerly Walnut Tree Collection) next door, which is an onsite gift shop. It has a gift option for any occasion, think baby shower, birthday, wedding or engagement – they have it all. And even better – they gift wrap! Plus there are plenty of lovely pieces you’ll want to take home for yourself.

WattleTree Collection: 10am – 5pm, open Thursday through to Monday

Down the road from us, you can also pop into the popular Brown Brothers Winery, which has re-opened its cellar door for seven days a week! Enjoy a lovely tasting session and lunch at their cellar door and then restaurant, before heading to small batch gin distillery, Hurdle Creek Still, which has also re-opened its doors. While in the Milawa Gourmet Region, it’s definitely worth stocking up on plenty of local produce from Milawa Mustards, Walkabout Apiaries and Gamze Smokehouse.

While you’re up our way in the Victorian High Country, make the most of all the beautiful spots up here and the many re-opened business in those locations! Near Milawa, you can easily drive to the King Valley for some delicious Prosecco, Bright for beers and water activities as well as Mount Buffalo National Park, and enjoy the beautiful historic buildings in Beechworth.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to our lovely corner of the world after a strange and unusual year! Check out our Visit Us page to plan your visit.
