Milawa Cheese Co CEO Ceridwen Brown and partner Matt, are delighted to announce the arrival of their son, Cooper Gareth Brown, born 11 March. Everyone is happy and healthy; grandfather David Brown is pretty chuffed with his new little mate!

To mark the arrival of the third generation of the Milawa Cheese family, head cheesemaker Cameron and his team have created a new cheese, rightfully named Cooper. When tasked with this momentous creation, Cam asked first about the parents’ favourite styles.. Ceridwen loves a fresh goat’s cheese with grapevine ash (hence the Ceridwen Chevre that is already named after her!), while Matt prefers a harder-style cows milk cheese.

Cooper is the best of both: a semi-hard cow milk cheese marbled with a layer of grapevine ash, similar in style to French Morbier. The new cheese has a luscious, smooth and creamy texture, with fresh acidic tones and a smooth hint of caramel as an aftertaste. It is a great table cheese, but also melts and cooks well.

We have made 500 wheels of Cooper, which has aged in Milawa’s cheese cellar for two months and are available by portion or whole 1.5kg wheel. Purchase in the shop or online, but only while stocks last.
