Gooey, gorgeous Milawa Blue has been converting non blue-lievers since 1988. Inspired by Gorgonzola Dolce, she’s the first cheese we made and we can’t stop because people love her so much (us included). If you think you don’t like blue, she’s the blue for you. Mild and creamy with a rich, buttery flavour and a slightly yeasty punch - balanced out with just the right amount of salt. We dote on her, turning her regularly and brushing her by hand during her 3 months in ‘the cave’ (our blue cheese maturing room). She likes to mingle with fresh fruit, light rye bread, and fortified reds from our neighbours in Rutherglen.
Our Milawa Blue has been taking home the gold in this year's competitions, awarded at both the 2023 Dairy Industry Association of Australia (Vic) and 2023 Royal Queensland Cheese Dairy Awards, as well as silver at the 2023 Perth Royal Food Awards.
